Summer Trends For The Gents

Hola,

Hello there my dolls. I’m back sooner than you thought huh? Well I have this goal that I have yet to keep which is to publish two posts per week. So here I am. How are things with you all? I’m doing great just trying to juggle my schedule in a way that is more productive, hence being back on the blog so soon. πŸ™‚

I’m hoping you all had a chance to read my last post “Oh Summer… What’s Trending” and that it was helpful. I’m feelin’ the choices especially the off-the shoulder looks and the low-slung pants. I will be rocking both and perhaps will share some photos of my looks with you in a future post. If you haven’t checked out the post though, go ahead and take a look after reading this one. If anything, there are some pretty cool photos and you might be tempted to choose a trend.

So in continuing the “trend” topic, I figured I’d give the gents a lil something too. So per the title of this post, I’m going to give the guys some ideas of what’s trending for them this summer. I mean with New York Fashion having they’re first “Men’s Fashion Week” and all, there had to be some cool stuff on the runways no? Well…. I’m not sure that the everyday guy would go for some of the styles, and I will add that it took me a while to find something that I wanted to share. Some of the “trends” were way outta left field so I hope my picks are to your liking fellas. Let’s do this shall we?

SUMMER TRENDS

WIDE-LEG TROUSERS

810

As with the women’s summer trends, the wide-leg trouser is also in for the fellas. I’m kinda feeling this look for the guys as opposed to the whole “skinny jean” trend that has been a thing for a bit. It’s a more relaxed look that can be mixed and matched. You can get away with wearing them to the office as well. Just pair the pant with a shorter blazer.

Photo from left to right: Casely-Hayford, E Tautz, Universal Works, Topman Design, Sean Suen

PINSTRIPES

spring-2016-menswear-trends-04-long-striped-suits-05

Again, as with the women’s trend, stripes were also a thing on the men’s runway. Pinstripe suits, shirts and pants were major. The most noticeable thing was that the stripes were wider than usual which I think is kinda cool. If you go with an all-out striped suit, wear a solid shirt.

ALL WHITE

mens-trends-2

I think no explanation is needed here… I love the all-white look so go ahead and rock it.

Photo: IndigitalImages.com

JUMPSUITS

mens-trends-8

This was one of those “outta left field” that I mentioned earlier. While I love a jumpsuit for myself, I don’t love the idea for men. I’m still debating. Guys, I would love your input on this one. Would you or wouldn’t you? Share!

Photo: IndigitalImages.com

THE CRUMPLED LOOK

mens-trends-20

Hmmm… Well at least if your shirt is wrinkled, you can say your “trending.” I mean maybe go with the “crumpled” shirt but I’m not feeling the head to toe look. It’s a bit messy unless you’re really into this. Yeah, the shirt would work and let that be the stand out piece.

Photo: IndigitalImages.com

ELONGATED TOPS

New-York-Fashion-Week-Men-Spring-Summer-2016-Trends-Elongated-Longline-Tops-800x725

The longer tee made an appearance on the runway and it seems doable. This is more of a casual look so maybe skip this trend for the office.

Photo from left to right: Alexandre Plokhov, Ovadia & sons, Robert Geller

SAFARI

810 (1)

The safari look made a splash on the runways with very nice tones like greens, tans, browns and cool animal patterns as well. Pair your look with a solid pant of course and don’t be afraid to mix colors.

Photo from left to right: Coach, Christopher Reaburn, YMC, Burberry Prorsum, Richard James

BLUE AND GRAY

810 (2)

The colors blue and gray were popular for the guys. Both colors are pretty much easy to match but since it’s summer, why not pair with a pop color like yellow, orange or a jewel-toned green? It would spice up the look a whole lot.

…The End…

So there you go gentlemen… I gotta tell ya, it wasn’t an easy task combing through the interwebs and trying to find something that I felt y’all would be down with. LOL Sheesh! Some of the trends were beyond and although I’m not feeling ALL of these, these were the looks that I felt were more suitable for the everyday guy because that’s who I write for.

With that said, what did you think? This is my second post dedicated to the guys so I hope y’all actually liked it. πŸ˜‰ Would you wear any of these looks? If so, which ones and what would you do different to make it sensible and suitable for the occasion? If you’re not feeling any of these trends, tell me why not. I would love to know what the gents are really into when it comes to fashion so please chime in.

Well it’s about that time for me to say that… You all know the drill. Comment below and let me know what you think. Needless to say, that I’m looking forward to what the guys have to say about these trends. I mean summer is the “laid-back and relaxed” season when you just want to put on a pair of shorts and a top and go out and enjoy the sun and the great weather. Of course it’s not written in stone that what’s trending for a season is what we all have to wear so go with whatever you prefer and feel comfortable with.

Alrighty then, I would love to get a man’s point of view along with the ladies. Go ahead and share your opinions below. Whether it’s a yes or a nah, don’t be shy and join in on the conversation. Also guys, feel free to let me know what your style is because fashion is a bit different for men. It’s obvious that there isn’t a lot of variety so y’all probably have to make more of an effort to find items that don’t fall under the usual trousers, jeans, dress shirts, and suits. Now is your chance to speak and let me know what is missing for the guys as far as fashion. I promise I will post something that hits more to your style at a later date. So please share your comments below. Let’s start a fun conversation. I look forward to your feedback. Let’s chat. Go! #engage

Oh Summer… What’s Trending?

Hola,

How goes it my loves? My wish is that all is going well with each of you. That life and the Universe are both treating you kindly. I’m doing pretty well. I’ve had a bit of “writer’s block” lately so that explains why I haven’t posted new content in about two weeks. In the words of one of Β my bestest “sometimes it beez that way.” πŸ™‚

So here comes the part where I ask if you’ve caught up with my previous post/posts… So have you? LOL! Since it’s been two weeks, I’m going to ask if you’ve had a chance to read my last two posts. The first “My Beach Day Essentials” was a fun one where I listed all the items I need for the perfect beach day. Check it out and see if I missed something. The second was incredibly sad for me as it was my tribute to one of my all-time favorite stars – Prince, titled “Heaven Has Turned Purple.” His death was so untimely and unexpected. I mean who else thought the man was immortal? How could he leave us so suddenly? Go ahead and have look. I felt so melancholic for days after his death. #sadness 😦

Alrighty, let’s lift the mood up some shall we? I figured, and I feel this post has been overdue, that I’d let you all know what the designers decided would trend for spring/summer in 2016. Technically, this post is not really overdue because it’s still spring per our calendar so there! πŸ˜‰ Anyways my darlings, I’m pretty excited about these trends and y’all know I’m not really big on them but these are making me feel like I can jump on a bunch. Some not so much but I have to add those as well because everyone has different tastes. Plus, there are lots and lots of my favorite thing… COLOR! Yasss! So let’s get to it:

SUMMER TRENDS

OFF-THE-SHOULDER

MTMzNjAzNTY4ODgzMTM0NDM0

Shoulders were a thing on the runways, and I will include other examples so you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Off-the-shoulder dresses and tops are screaming summer no? I love this look and I really want the two dresses on the left! Oh screw it I can rock all these looks. My point is, is that this look is so girly, flirty and summery that how can you NOT go for it? Whether it’s a short dress, a maxi dress, or a top, anybody can pull this off. You can match with flat sandals for the boho look that I adore, with heels or flip flops for a more casual day. Accessorize with hoop earrings, bracelets, a wristlet as shown above and even layered necklaces. Note: Make sure to highlight your shoulders with a little bit of bronzer.

Photo from left to right: Paul & Joe, Peter Pilotto, Chloe, Michael Kors, and Francesca Liberatore

TRAILING TASSELS

MTMzNjAzNjMyNzcwNzYyNzYy

Tassels were also a big thing on the runways. I think they’re pretty cute. I wouldn’t let mine trail to the floor since I live in New York City and with the hustle and bustle of the crowds, someone is sure to step on them and have me tripping. Yikes! However, I’m down to try this look. They can match your outfit or you can just add a long piece of fabric to make your look unique.

Photos from left to right: Boss, Marc Jacobs, Derek Lam, Michael Kors, and Joseph

LOW-SLUNG PANTS

slideshow-shop-spring-trends-37-low-slung-pants-calvin-kors-derek-main

Yasss! <3! This is the pant version of the low-rise jeans which I adore. This look is more loose and slouchy with a wide leg so you can maybe get away with wearing them to the office just make sure your top reaches a little below your hips. For any other occasion, go ahead and rock that cropped top and show off the pants. I’m definitely going to try this trend.

Photos from left to right: Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Derek Lam

SHOULDER CUT-OUTS

MTMzNjAzNTg5Mjg0MTc4NTYz

This is another example of the bare shoulders. This style is called “shoulder cut-out” for the obvious reasons. This is also a very girly and flirty look. I have a long sleeved dress with shoulder cutouts that fits like a glove. It’s a very sexy look and you can go with the long or short dress or a cute top paired with a flirty skirt or the low-slung pant.

Photo from left to right: Bernard Chandran, Guy Laroche, Andrew Gn, Issa, and Milly

DONE UP DENIM

slideshow-shop-spring-trends-29-new-denim-chanel-chloe-tomas-main

Y’all know my love affair with denim yes? I mean if I could wear jeans every day, I would. Jeans are that item of clothing that you can dress way up or dress way down and still look good. This summer your jeans will come in patterns, textures, indigo, acid washed, etc. I’m going to buy a pair because… Yes! Will you?

Photo from left to right: Chanel, ChloΓ©, Tomas Maier

CRUMPLED FABRIC

MTMzNjAzNjEwNzU5MDY1NTcw

I have a confession to make… I HATE ironing! I do! So this trend is perfection for me. I’m feelin’ it though. How about you? I would try the crumpled skirt or top and use that item as the wow piece. I’d go with muted tones like the photo in the far right. AlsoΒ tryΒ nudes, grays, browns, and even metallics.

Photo from left to right: Margaret Howell, Bottega Veneta, Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, and Nina Ricci

MICRO-PLEATS

MTMzNjAzNjE3NDY5OTQxNzcw

I’m not a huge fan of pleats but these are okay. The key word is “micro” so I can work with this. If you choose to wear a pleated skirt, I’d pass on a pleated top. Let the skirt pleats shine.

Photo from left to right: J.Mendel, Gabriele Colangelo, Sonia Rykiel, Giles, and Stella McCartney

DECONSTRUCTED OXFORD SHIRTS

MTMzNjAzNjYxNzYxODQ0NDk4

I had to add this trend only because it’s very interesting. So designers decided to take a dress shirt and do a variety of intricate things to it. Of course, most of these are not created for the workplace and I’m not sure how wearable they are in our everyday lives, but I just had to add this because… Interesting. πŸ˜‰

Photo from left to right: Zac Posen, Palmer Harding, Jacquemus, Delpozo, and Fyodor Golan

ASYMMETRICAL NECKLINES

MTMzNjAzNTk5MjE2MjkwNDM1

Here is another example of the bare shoulders. I also love this look because again… girly and flirty and so lovely. This trend shows less of the shoulders than the other two. This leans more to that one shoulder look. A great look for a sexy night out with the girls or a date and go all out with heels and stuff… πŸ™‚

Photo from left to right: J JS Lee, Christopher Kane, Antonio Marras, Sacai, and Versace

RUFFLES

MTMzNjAzNTU4OTUxMDEyMzYy

Ruffles were in full effect on the runways. They have that romantic feeling to them and let’s not forget that Prince made them look sexy as f**k during his Purple Rain days. While ruffles come in all shapes and sizes, it seems this year they’re larger and varied in shape. I have to add that when I’m sketching, I love drawing ruffles for some reason. LOL I know, totally not related but I wanted to share that. HA!

Photo from left to right: Marques’Almeida, J.W. Anderson, Luisa Beccaria, Lanvin, and Gucci

STRIPES

slideshow-shop-spring-trends-01-bright-bold-stripes-ralph-stella-dior-main

I love stripes! This year designers went for the bold and colorful stripe. Yeah, make that statement! Go for a striped dress, a top or mix the stripes as shown in the middle photo above. I love striped tank tops with jeans. I’ll accessorize with a bunch of layered necklaces, some hoop earrings and some nice sandals and I’m ready to go. Also, contrary to popular belief, there are stripes for every body type. If you’re curvy or plus-sized, try a thicker or wider stripe as opposed to the thin.

Photo left to right: Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney, Christian Dior

LATIN INFLUENCE

MTMzNjAzNjUzNDQwMjc5ODI2

And last but not least… Of course when I saw that there was a “Latin Influence” on the runways, I just HAD to add this trend. I mean I have to represent no? So yeah, there were ruffles again, flamenco skirts, bold colors like red and anything Latin in between. Of course, these are more for a night on the town as opposed to the office. If you’re feeling sexy, go for it. Slip into those sexy high-heeled sandals and go dance the night away in these dresses.

**All Photos used in this post were from Imaxtree, The Brand and IndigitalImages.

…The End…

Well there you have it my lovelies. These are some of the summer trends chosen by the top designers. Do you agree that some are over the top but some are doable in real life? I’m going to try a few especially the bare shoulder looks and the low-slung pant. How about you?

Don’t forget to accessorize your outfit. Silver or gold hoops are lovely during the summer months especially if your hair is pulled back from your face. Layer your necklaces, add bracelets or cuffs, over-sized rings and don’t forget your sunnies. Also, add powdered bronzer to your bare skin to give it that glowy effect especially on your bare shoulders. Last, go light on the makeup and accentuate with a bold red, matte lipstick because those are also in this season. Well it doesn’t have to be red or matte, but make your lips the focus. I love a glossy, dewy lip tint during the summer as well.

Sooo… You all know the drill. Comment below and share your opinions. Will you try any or most of these trends or will you pass because they seem over-the-top to you? If you’ll try, which were your favorites and how will you match them up to make it YOU? What are you most looking forward to wearing this summer or are you just a laid-back, chill and relaxed type of gal who doesn’t follow trends and wears what she wants? I lean more towards the latter but I also love dressing up spontaneously even if it’s to go to the office. Let’s discuss because I love hearing about and/or checking out other people’s style. Feel free to share photos in the comments. Don’t be shy and share your thoughts below. I look forward to your feedback. Let’s chat. Go! #engage

My Beach Day Essentials…

Hola,

How are my darlings doing? I’m hoping all is well and that life is treating you fantastic. I’m doing marvelous. I’m feeling much better, less exhausted and my mood has picked up. I was bummed about a project that didn’t come through, but the way to look at this outcome is that it was not meant to be. Something better will come along. Plus I’ve got some fun projects coming up that I have no time to be pouting over a lost one.

Did everybody have a chance to read my last post? I got plenty of comments. It was a quote of the week feature titled: “Uhh… Please Let Me Finish.” Many of us are guilty of listening with the intent to reply rather than to understand. It’s an interesting topic so if you haven’t caught it, go on over and have a look after reading this one.

So spring is in the air my loves, and what a wonderful thing this is. I know we’re all fast-forwarding ahead and dreaming of those lazy, summer days yes? Those days where you play hooky from work and head to one of the best places on earth… The beach! ❀ Yasss! Who’s with me on this? This year, I also want to go to a beautiful island on vacation and just lay on that beautiful white sand, looking out into crystal clear blue waters, while I blog away. Ayeee! #VacationGoals. πŸ™‚

Given that this WILL happen this year, I wanted to get a lil bit ahead of the season and write about what I’d need on this wonderful vacation. I’m not sure yet where I’ll go, but I’m there! πŸ˜‰ Note that even though this is all about ME and MY vacation, I know you can all agree that my choices are pretty much what make for the perfect beach day. There are items that are considered a given and others that vary by individual. We’ll see how much we all have in common. Let’s do this mis amores. Here are my beach day essentials or my #BeachDayMusts:

AnnaCris’ Beach Day Musts

THE BIKINI

tricia

The bikini is a must for me. They are entirely way too cute and with all the different styles available, you cannot go wrong if you pick the right one for your body type. Bikinis offer different types of coverage so you can either go with a teeny bikini or one that offers more coverage especially for your cute booty. I love bright colors, printed, with polka dots or stripes. Anything goes and the yellow one above (of course I’d go with yellow), is definitely a must for me. This one is by the brand Adore MeΒ and they have the cutest, affordable beachwearΒ inΒ all sizesΒ so go take a look at their website to see all their lovely beachwear and more.Β The yellow bikini is called “Tricia.” C. To see more by Adore Me, check out their website.

THE ONE PIECE

rebecca_17_022_web_rebecca-sexy-black-swimsuits-for-women

Who says a one-piece can’t be sexy? I love the back view of this bathing suit. While I tend to lean towards the bikini, there are beach days where I feel a lil bloated and such so I’d rather go with the one-piece instead. Although, some people just prefer the one-piece because they feel more comfortable and that’s just fine. Whatever works for you is what you should go with. The above swimsuit also by “Adore Me”Β proves that bikinis aren’t the only belles of the beach.

THE FLOPPY SUN HAT

34c0aba84bccc62c0663fbd0afdf2991

The sun hat is an absolute necessity for me. Not only does it pump up the cuteness factor and adds style, but it also helps keep the sun out of my eyes and my hair away from my face. I have the above hat but I like to change up the ribbon according to the color of my bikini. Haa! It’s like the IT thing to do. Y’all should do it too. LOL! There are different sizes and styles of the floppy hat but make sure to take one with you.

THE COVER UP

coverup101A0F63

The cover up is just too adorable and it adds a bit of flair at the beach. I love the bright, printed tunic styles like the one above by Victoria’s Secret. They are so lovely and girly. If my stay at the beach goes right into the evening, the cover up is perfect for when the night turns chilly.

SHORTS

25a74545ea6ade01fd17b99eb0be982a

Because nobody should head to the beach without a pair of shorts… I love denim, low-rise shorts. I feel super comfy in them and I reach for a pair to wear over my bikini bottom when I head out the door. Again, shorts come in handy if I plan to stay into the evening. I will also throw on a t-shirt over my bikini top and I’m ready for whatever comes next.

SUNNIES

ea35c6e3c237039691665c140d90b0cc

Just an FYI that you’re “cool factor” goes up by 100% when you wear a great pair of sunnies. I adore over-sized sunglasses. They are my go to style and I have several different pairs. Sunnies are a complete must at the beach because they guard your eyes from the sun’s UV rays. I mean we all love to have fun at the playa (aka beach), but we should also take precautions to safe-guard from those harmful rays. Get a pair, whether they are over-sized, aviator, cat-styled… It doesn’t matter and never leave the house without them.

FLIP FLOPS

6869566b3010003baa674ec30232e925

Okay seriously, HOW can you NOT love flip flops? They’re colorful, comfortable, they come in so many cute styles and they SCREAM beach! I mean there should be a law or something that nobody is allowed to set foot on any beach without a pair of flips (mmhmm, I said “flips”). I have a bunch so that I can switch and sometimes match them to my swimsuit because… Yasss! πŸ™‚

BEACH TOWEL AND TOTE

How CUTE is the beach tote with the coordinating mat above by Brit & Co.? I WANT!! ❀

I never forget my tote because how else will I carry everything else on this list? πŸ˜‰ I have a really pretty one that I got as a gift from Clinique. Of course it’s yellow and white and it’s large enough to fit all my essentials including my beach towel. I always choose a colorful towel just because hey, it’s the beach… πŸ™‚

MANI/PEDI

Summer is never complete without a great mani and pedi especially if I’m headed to the beach. I love bright colors because that’s what the season is all about. I hardly ever match my mani and pedi. I love to complement certain colors that work well together and it works for me. Whether you like to match or not, whether you like bright colors or not, always have your toesies flip flop and beach ready. I mean how else will you be able to take that super cute “at the beach leg selfie?” πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

SUNSCREEN AND LIP BALM

[

organic_lip_balm-product_1x-1409064051

Sunscreen and lip balm are on the top of my essentials list. We’ve all heard from the experts how important it is to protect our skin and lips if we’re going to be out in the sun for long periods of time yes? I always pack both. We should use sunscreen no matter how dark our skin is. It’s just an extra precaution. I also pack this oil by Banana Boat that I love because it gives me the perfect bronze tan. I apply it after applying my sunscreen. As for the lip balm, that is a staple of mine on a daily basis, not only for the beach. I love the one in the photo above by Mountain Rose Herbs.

MUSIC, A GOOD BOOK, WATER

I never leave home without my music. Music is life! It touches your soul and takes you to faraway places. The beach and good music make for the perfect day.

I’m a total bookworm. I’ve loved to read since I can remember so of course, a good mystery/romance novel makes for a great companion on my beach day. However, if I bring a friend along, the book stays in my tote because nothing beats great conversation with your bestie or your squad. πŸ˜‰

Last, being in the sun for hours can dehydrate anyone so I make sure to bring plenty of bottled water. I bring enough to last during my entire beach adventure. πŸ™‚

…The End…

So there you have it my loves… These are my #BeachDayMusts. Everything I listed here is essential for my perfect beach day and I never leave home without them. I cannot wait to hit the beach this summer. Last year I wasn’t able to make my way there, but this year it will be a different story. Plus, that vacation I’m dreaming about is going to happen at some point this year as well so this list will come in handy.

Alrighty then, y’all know the drill… It’s your turn to join in on the fun. What are your essential items that make for a perfect beach day? Of course we all know swimsuits/trunks are first on the list, but maybe there’s something you must have that I didn’t mention. Why not share in the comments below? Do you pack a lot of extras or do you just hit the road and wing it? Do you prefer to go to the beach alone with good music and a good book, or do you prefer to hang with family and friends and make it a party? What do you do once you’re there? Do you just chill or do you spend most of the time in the water? Sheesh, I have so many questions. Come on my loves, don’t be shy. The majority of us love the beach so let’s discuss. Tell me what your #BeachDayMusts are and let’s start a fun conversation. I look forward to your feedback. Let’s chat. Go! #engage

Bra-Blems Anyone?

Hola,

How goes it mis amores? I’m hoping all is going just fabulous for all of you. I know, I completely slacked off last week and didn’t post anything. The exhaustion took over again so I was feeling under the weather and blah but I’m back! *still exhausted though* but pushing through it. πŸ™‚

Did everyone have a chance to read my last post? I mean I gave y’all ample time this go around (LOL). If you missed it, you missed a really fun post called “Eyelashes On Fleek.” I reviewed my three favorite mascaras all by Benefit Cosmetics – what are the odds? They are amazing, no really… UH-mazing! If you’re curious, go on over and take a look but finish reading this post first of course. πŸ˜‰

So ladies, I know we all have experienced an uncomfortable bra in our lifetime. Y’all know the feeling… There’s some slipping, pinching and mostly just plain unbearable. What do we do about this? Well a few weeks ago, I was introduced to ThirdLove and thought it would be fun to bring you the ultimate guide to fix all your bra problems. ThirdLove is a company that specializes in great fittingΒ bras! (Β <Β click this link to take a peek). They have great information on how to fix some of the more common issues that we have with bras and I figured why not share.

I know that all of us ladies know good and well how uncomfortable wearing the wrong bra can be. I for one can’t wait until I get home to get rid of mine. I’ve been known for taking them off through my sleeve at times. LOL, don’t judge or give me any “side-eye” because I KNOW y’all have done it too. So the gang at ThirdLove calls our issues with ill-fitting bras “Bra-Blems.” Get it? Bra-Blems = ProBlems? Haaa, I love it! So I figured I’d write about my own “Bra-Blems” and hope you all will share yours… I will also share an exclusive promo code that you can use on Thirdlove’s website to make a purchase so keep reading. πŸ™‚

455030

Before I begin, let me just put it out there that my breast are small so my issues are all “small-boob” related bra-blems. My bra size is a 32A. Mmhmmm… Don’t judge. My hope is that those who have been blessed with bigger boobs will share their own bra-blems in the comments section and their own solutions if any. So let’s get this started:

ANNACRIS’ BRA-BLEMS

STRAP SLIPPING

I’ve noticed that my strap starts slipping after I’ve worn and washed my bra for a while. The straps get looser and looser and no amount of tightening helps. I know I have some pretty cute, sexy bras that I refuse to get rid of so what to do?

FIXER

For me it’s a matter of tightening the straps as much as possible or moving to the last hook on the band to tighten things all around. I’m no expert but this helps for a little while.

SIDE BOOB

Lately, I’ve gain some weight (yay) – I know, strange to hear a woman say that but it’s true. I don’t know if because of this weight gain that perhaps my boobs have grown some, but I’ve noticed some side boob action and no amount of gathering of the boobage variety helps.

FIXER

Right now the best fixer for me is bending forward and gathering the ladies towards my cleavage area. That seems to do the trick. I read on ThirdLove’s site that the better solution for this is to go up a cup but I have a number of pretty bras in size 32A that I just don’t want to give up just yet. LOL I mean really… They’re cute!

UNDERWIRE DIGGING IN

I think women with small boobs tend to lean to the underwire bra because it lifts and adds some sexy cleavage, hence the push up bra. However, there are so many times when that underwire just digs in and it’s so uncomfortable and sometimes painful! For me, the digging occurs in the center of the bra so yes, it’s painful. This is when I have no problem removing said bra via my sleeve if I’m out in public.

FIXER

I know this isn’t the correct fixer, but since the underwire digs in the center for me I try to bend it outward just a little bit so it doesn’t. Who else does this? Either that or I just won’t ever wear this bra again. Haaa! I know #quitting but lord knows this is a tough one so if anybody has a better idea, ahem ThirdLove, please share. πŸ˜‰

NO UNDERWIRE = NO SUPPORT

I love sports bras. They seem to be the most comfortable to wear but they offer no support or lift. I usually wear mine under a tank top in the summer but again, no support to my already tiny twins. So what to do?

FIXER

My simple solution which again may not be the correct one is to wear my sporty on the tightest hook, bend forward and gather these babies as much as possible and hope they stay through the day. Is there a sports bra that offers more support? If so, it makes me wonder would the comfort level decrease. Not sure but I remain faithful to my sporty because it’s the most comfortable.

BRA SHOWS WITH BACKLESS OR HALTER TOPSΒ

This is an issue with me in the summer. We all wanna look cute during those hot summer months, and halter tops or backless tops where the back of your blouse falls below the waist are a go to especially on a night out on the town. I for one prefer to wear a bra most of the time unless I’m home. However, I wish that someone would come up with one that fits this bill. I know Victoria’s Secret came out with a bra that you could wear in multiple ways (backless option being one of them) but it was like an obstacle course to put it on. It was just too complicated. It felt impossible and some of the band still showed. #drat

FIXER

I honestly have no fixer for this one. I just wanted to drop this here in case any bra company reading this would be interested in coming up with this fixer. I promise that women will love you for this one. I mean who wants their bra showing when you’re trying to look sexy while dancing it up? Not I! Plus we all want that lift and support so if you could possibly work on this one, that’d be great.

So these are my own bra-blems and how I fix these issues. Some fixers may not be the best option, but they work for me. Again, for the ladies with bigger boobs, PLEASE feel free to share your issues. I’m including a link to ThirdLove’s website which contains some of their own bra-blems and fixers that I’m sure many of you can also relate to and maybe these can be of help. Check it:

ThirdLove_Fit Issues

Please take a moment to click on the above link. It has excellent information that may be useful with different issues and the correct fixers for each as well as the correct way to “put on a bra.” Bwahaha! I know I laughed too but you’d be surprised at how many of us are doing it all wrong. So take a peek!

…The End…

So there you have it my darlings. While my issues pertain to the smaller boob variety, I’m sure all of us have pretty much the same issues – straps sliding, underwire digging, maybe your straps dig into your shoulders or the band rides up (this one is awful). Whatever your case may be, trust that there are easy solutions and if you checked out the link above, you’ll see I’m right.

As I mentioned earlier, Here is the Β exclusive promo code for 15% off of your purchase on Thirdlove’s website – PERSONALITY. I’ve gone through their collection and their bras look super cute and they have underwear too! I meant to purchase one before writing this post but stay tuned for my review at a later date.Β Here’s a peak of their best seller:

ThirdLove’s Classic T-Shirt Bra

So what are your bra-blems? Maybe your issue was not listed here or was not included in the link above. I KNOW y’all have one or two or five so why not share? Perhaps by sharing we can find more options for a more comfortable bra life. Maybe you need to change to a different style. I love the push up because yes, but there are so many different styles that I could be wearing that could offer more comfort. What is your favorite bra style? What do you all do when your bra is just unbearable and you have a long day ahead of you? Do you remove it via your sleeve a la moi or do you endure it like a champ? Are you willing to change to a different brand if it is more comfortable? So many questions…. Β But y’all already know the drill. Comment below and share your BRA-BLEMS and fixers. Don’t be shy because I know y’all have at least a couple.

Alrighty then, I repeat… Ya’ll already know this drill. Don’t be shy and share your thoughts. Let’s discuss this subject that unites us in so many ways. Seven Favorite Styles… Sweaters!

Hola,

What’s the haps mis amores (my loves)? LOL, I love saying this. I have a friend who always addresses me this way and it always makes me chuckle. So what’s new with everyone? I hope all my lil style icons are doing wonderful. Things are well with me. I’m feeling less exhausted this week. However, I’m still bummed about a project I thought for sure would come through but hasn’t. I haven’t lost hope yet so we shall see… πŸ˜‰

Now that we’ve gotten the formalities outta the way, did everyone get a chance to read my last post “Five Favorite Styles… Winter Coats?” If you haven’t, you’ve missed a fun one. For me, it was pretty cool browsing around looking at lovely coats to add to the list. However, it was difficult picking just five. I mean let’s face it, how in the world can we just pick five out of so many beautiful styles, colors, textures, patterns… Good Lord! But I was determined to, and I feel that my five choices were on point for my type of style. I would love your take on them as well as your own picks so once you’ve finished reading this post, please go have a look and leave a comment.

So if you’ve followed my blog and/or you know me personally, it’s a well-known fact that I love fall/winter because of the clothes. Yes indeed! Given this and in keeping with the winter theme, I decided to discuss another love of mine… Sweaters! I adore their coziness, the way they keep you warm, some of them are so soft, the fact that you can layer them and that you can wear them for a casual look as well as dress them up for work or a night out. I combed the internet, well mostly Pinterest, to find the seven styles that I usually lean towards and I wanted to share. Check them out and see if your favorites are on this list:

SWEATERS – MY FAVORITE STYLES

THE CHUNKY SWEATER

a1eda52f66e372124dbc735bea96f24b

The chunky sweater is one of the coziest styles. They’re thick and heavy and keep you so nice and warm. The above sweater is by one of my favorite designers Isabel Marant. The color is so lovely (y’all know my love for bright colors). This type of sweater can be layered with either a collared shirt (with the shirt collar popping out as well as the sleeves) or a thin turtleneck. It’s great for a casual day in jeans but also with slacks for work.

THE LONG SLEEVE T-SHIRT

img-thing (1)

This long sleeve t-shirt by Hollister is one of my top favorites. I have one in navy blue and I regret not getting more. The material is soooo soft and warm. Plus it molds to your body perfectly. With this style, it is easy to layer either with a tank top underneath or you can also get away with layering with a loose short sleeve t-shirt on top. This is more of a casual style so I always wear mine with jeans.

THE TURTLENECK SWEATER

51f86bca325694a4867507640f3bd669

Ayyeee!! I really want this sweater though. The turtleneck has been around for ages. It comes and goes in the fashion world and currently, it’s back in. The above sweater is by Lands’ End and look how lovely it is. This style falls under the “chunky” turtlenecks which are one of my favorites because they’re so relaxed and keep you so warm. No need to layer with this sweater. I prefer to wear this style with jeans or slacks. There are also thinner versions of the turtleneck that can be worn for a dressier look. It’s really your choice.

THE CARDIGAN SWEATER

e0e7719a5da6b853ab6be12c372d657f

The cardigan has also been around for quite a while and I feel like this style never really goes away. How pretty is this sweater by Maurices? The color is so delicate. The cardigan comes in different textures from thin fabric to a more thick/heavy type. Some come with buttons while others of late, come without and have a bit of a flair or ruffle effect in the front. The cardigan is very convenient even in the summer because you can wear it over a summer dress or a tank top/cami top if the evening gets a bit cool. Therefore, this style can be worn throughout the year and is great for a dressy or a casual look.

THE HOODIE

78c458e734cdbebf4a5e355548973437

Hoodies! They are my favorite. When fall comes around, hoodies are one of the first articles of clothing that I bust out of my closet. I secretly wish that hoods were attached to almost every top I own LOL. Of course, the above is by Hollister and as is the long sleeve t-shirt, it’s soft and comfy. Hoodies are also more of a casual statement so go for it on the weekends or a casual Friday and pair them with jeans or a denim mini. πŸ˜‰

THE CROPPED SWEATER

dd8e491fb5c5036684a84fc27d8744dd

Umm, WHY haven’t I seen this sweater at H&M? I love it! The style, the color, the texture… everything about it is so me. I feel a trip to H&M this week. πŸ™‚ The cropped sweater is just too cute. However, this style is a bit tricky because of the shortness in length so just be mindful. I always layer mine with a fitted tank top underneath and if I feel a bit bloated because let’s face it, we all go through that time of the month, I’ll skip this and go with something else. Cropped tops/sweaters can be paired with jeans, slacks or a cute pencil skirt. They’re not necessarily casual. They look fabulous spiced up a bit and a bright color like the above is fantastic.

THE SWEATER DRESS

e7ae0c1011df581322b14f6008f4b8ea (1)

The sweater dress is also a favorite of mine because… Yes! They’re super elegant and classy just make sure you choose the right length if you’re wearing one to work and any kind of business engagement. If you’re going out on the town with the squad or on a hot date, a lil bit shorter is perfectly fine. Sweater dresses look marvelous with heeled knee high boots. You can also liven up the outfit with a short coat or blazer and accessorize with a trio of layered long necklaces.

VisitΒ Hello Fashion BlogΒ to check out this look up close. I think it’s so lovely.

**All photos in this post were found on Pinterest.

…The End…

So there they are… My top favorite styles of sweaters for winter. As I said in my previous post, I prefer to give you all ideas and share my style as opposed to “telling” you all what you should wear. Style is a matter of individual taste and everybody is different. So go with whatever you feel most comfortable and confident with and you cannot go wrong.

Well then, y’all already know the drill… Join in the fun and comment your opinions below. What styles are your favorites and how do you wear them? Do you layer them or prefer a more fitted style? How do you spice up a sweater let’s say for work or a night out? Do you accessorize, wear a bright color or skip a sweater altogether? The questions are endless… So feel free to share your thoughts, photos, ideas. I’m all up for a discussion so let’s start a conversation. I look forward to your participation. Let’s chat. Five Favorite Styles… Winter Coats!

Hola,

How are my lovelies doing? I hope that life is treating all of you well. I’m doing okay except for that feeling of exhaustion that just refuses to go away. I’ve also been feeling a lil bummed over an adventure that I thought would come through but has not. However, I cannot let any of this beat me so here I am pushing through because I honestly love doing this. It truly brings me joy. πŸ™‚

So… did everyone catch my last post “To End or Mend?” I know, I know it was a bit off course, but I like to add something different every once in a while. Basically, it was me wondering how it can be so easy for someone to just walk away from any type of relationship (friend, family, lover) without any type of communication or yes, confrontation if there was an issue that could have been corrected. How people would rather leave things be than talk things out, solve the problem and make the relationship stronger if that is possible. I know sometimes it’s not but if it is, wouldn’t you want to save said relationship? Anyways, if you haven’t checked out the post, please do so after reading this one and add your two cents. πŸ˜‰

Alrighty then, let’s get to the less heavy stuff shall we? I figured I’d continue with the winter theme and decided to focus on winter coats. There are several different styles of coats so rather than “tell” you what to wear, I thought I’d share with you the five styles that are my favorites for these cold, winter months. So without further fanfare, let’s begin:

MY FAVORITE WINTER COATS

THE PEA COAT

9c4820b6815e7b35b36aa7f737ab1692

This is definitely a top favorite of mine. The pea coat is known for being short in length, made of heavy wool, double-breasted, with large buttons, vertical pockets and the classic color is navy blue. Nowadays, the pea coat can be found in a variety of colors and with slight alterations to the classic style. For example I have a gray coat by Calvin Klein that is double-breasted but also comes with a belt that you can tie in front for a more fitted look.

The pea coat can be worn with just about anything and for any occasion. I love to wear mine with fitted slacks/jeans or a dress/skirt, with a knee high boot or booties and accessorize with a pair of leather gloves and a pretty, colorful scarf.

* The above coat is by Victoria’s Secret.

THE DOUBLE-BREASTED COAT

c4971c569ff527c880aa90e27c9afbf2

How adorable is this coat by Lily & Co.? This is definitely my definition of a “pop” of color and not to mention that yellow IS my favorite. πŸ˜‰ #MustGetThisCoat

The double-breasted coat has two columns of buttons instead of one column. One column of buttons is usually for decoration while the other is functional. It usually has wide, overlapping front flaps and has a classy and elegant look. This coat is longer in length than the pea coat so it’s great for those of us that love to wear skirts or dresses in the winter.

As I said, this coat is classy and elegant so it’s great for a night out and for work if you have to dress the part. I have a “winter white” coat by Victoria’s Secret that I love and I don’t usually wear unless I’m going out to a fancy shindig because I don’t want to get it dirty. You can also accessorize this coat with a pair of fancy leather gloves and pretty scarf peeking out from inside.

THE WRAP COAT

26f25d9d0a2b5d8a669393afe3273bf3

I think this cashmere wrap coat by Donna Karan New York is so lovely. The color is just fabulous. I wouldn’t mind owning this one either.

The wrap coat is like a bathrobe basically. It comes in a variety of lengths so you can choose what works for you. I love both long and short lengths depending on what I’m wearing. They are effortless since they have no buttons just a tie belt. Don’t panic though, this coat can still keep you super warm during those cold winter days. They are made of heavy wool so do not fret. Plus, aside from layering and accessorizing, just remember to tie the belt tightly, but fashionably around your waist.

THE COCOON COAT

b8e129d0b840d9254c5930035020afc0

Tell me the color of the above coat by Jil Sander isn’t just charming… I’m not even a “pink” person but I would definitely rock this coat.

The cocoon coat is one of the most versatile styles because it’s so roomy. This coat is perfect for every body type, it has room for layering (I LOVE to layer during the winter), and it’s perfect for any occasion whether it’s a dressy day or a casual one. Also, this style also comes in a variety of lengths so choose your preference. Wear with heels, flats or even a nice pair of sneakers. Of course, do not forget to accessorize.

THE PUFFER JACKET/COAT

6daf0b6f931e0218875bc02df0d4040d

My new love… I purchased this Sherpa Lined Puffer Jacket by Hollister last week and I am so in <3!! I wanted a change in my casual jackets and this is perfect. Not only was the jacket on sale, but it’s got Sherpa lining throughout the body. Even the hood is Sherpa lined so needless to say that it keeps me super warm and cozy.

The puffer coat/jacket is perfect for those freezing winter days. The puffy sections are filled with down insulation or synthetic fibers to provide much warmth. Another plus is that this jacket/coat is lightweight. The above puffer is so light and soft so it’s like I’m not wearing a jacket at all. This style is a bit on the fitted side so if you like to layer up like I do, get one size larger than your normal size for extra room.

Needless to say the puffer is the most casual of the five styles. However, this jacket/coat also comes in a variety of lengths so you can also dress up and wear the longer length. You can spice it up with a scarf and gloves and you’re good to go.

** All photos in this post were found on Pinterest.

…THE END…

So there you have it my darlings. These are my top five favorite styles of winter coats. This is not to say that I’m not into other styles as well. I mean, the military coat is pretty cool and the top coat also falls in the elegant category. It’s just a matter of taste which is why I chose to showcase my favorites rather than impose on you what you should wear. We’re all different in many aspects so like I always say, go with what works best for you.

Okay then, you all know the drill… Comment below and let me know your thoughts. I would love to hear what your favorite styles are and why. Do you prefer the more elegant look or is casual your go to style for warmth and comfort? How do you accessorize your outerwear? How many different coats do you own? LOL, now THAT is the question. I’m sure all my fashionistas own several. In any case, let’s discuss. Y’all know I love to converse so let’s do this. Share your opinions and if you have photos that you’d like to share, please feel free to do so below. Tell me about your favorite winter coat styles. I look forward to your feedback. Let’s chat. The Warm & Fuzzies… Accessories

Hola,

What’s going on my darlings? How is this third week of 2016 going for you all? I’m hoping that depending on your location that you are keeping warm because winter has definitely arrived. It is “brick” in New York City right now and snow is expected this weekend. I’ve been doing pretty well except for feeling so exhausted since last week. It was a draining week physically and mentally, but all for a good cause hopefully… πŸ˜‰

So did everyone catch my last post “My Love For Chuck… Taylor… Converse?” It was a short one sort of reviewing my new Converse All Stars that I am totally in amor (<3) with! I went on the Converse website and customized my pair and am psyched with the end result. I give them two thumbs up! If you haven’t checked out that post and the sneakers, please do so after reading this one and let me know what you think.

Well then, in keeping with the “cold weather” theme, I figured I’d grace you all with my picks for winter accessories to keep us warm and toasty in this frigid weather while also looking stylish and chic. Y’all know my love for pretty scarves and cute socks but there’s certainly more where that came from so here you go:

THE WARM & FUZZIES

SCARVES

44873431293519fffff34255d959185b

Scarves are definitely a weakness of mine. I love the different textures, colors, patterns, etc. Scarves can be worn all year round as long as you choose the right material for the season. In this case, we’re going with the knitted version to keep us nice and warm. The above photo features the infinity scarf which is pretty handy and can be worn in different ways.

THE WRAP SCARF

539fc1d140cef_-_cos-01-knit-scarf-de

The wrap is an over-sized scarf that’s long and wide and will keep you super warm during these cold days of winter. This also can be worn in different ways and they usually come in beautiful patterns that you can match to your outfit or use it as the stand out piece of your ensemble. I have a pretty checkered red, black, white and gray one from Express that I love. The above scarf is by Zara.

GLOVES

539fc1d278c39_-_cos-03-knit-gloves-de-mscn

Without a doubt, gloves are a must for this “brick” weather. I mean I even refuse to text anyone if I’m out in the freezing cold except if I have the above gloves. These are made to allow you to use your phone without removing your gloves. The thumb and pointer fingertips are covered with a special fabric that allows you to swipe your phone’s screen. I have a pair by Under Armour that I love. They are very useful especially for the tech at heart. The above pair is by American Eagle Outfitters.

THE LEATHER GLOVE

539fc1d49e4a8_-_cos-07-leather-gloves-de-mscn

Of course if you want to go a little bit more stylish, the leather glove is the way to go. They may not keep your hands/fingers completely warm but you’ll be looking super fabulous. I love the camel color above by H&M. I have a pair of dark brown faux-leather gloves that have a long knit extension that you can either fold over or extend it to your forearm for extra warmth.

CUTE SOCKS

13e989d56a3e2cecc9172693c8cd0530

My girls know just how much I LOVE cute boot socks. I always wear them with my knee high boots and have them peeking out of the top. I love all of them! It doesn’t matter the color, pattern, texture as long as I think they’re cute, I will buy them. I love the thick material because they also keep your feet and toesies warm in your boots. The long length allows you to do the “peek-a-boo” effect so that you can see a lil bit of the sock coming out of the top of your boot. I always find the cutest pairs at DSW.

THE LEG WARMER

5c435d5f81129475b74eb4048daaeb73

I know, I know leg warmers were a thing in the 80s but trust me when I say that they’re back. Leg warmers are as cute as boot socks and can be worn in two ways. You can wear them under your boots for an extra layer of warmth or be a lil bit stylish and wear them over your boots as shown below. You can also wear them over your shoes if you’re skipping the boot. The point is, is that they’re cool and nowadays they come in very pretty styles like lace, with buttons, bows, colorful patterns, etc. etc. etc… Go ahead and try them. I have two pairs and this year I’m going to try wearing mine over my boots just because… πŸ˜‰

e198fb7852893f0d01f0fedcc1deebe8

THE BEANIE

539fc1d433eab_-_cos-06-knit-hat-de-mscn

I love the beanie because it’s just plain adorable and they keep your head and ears feeling cozy. You can go with the basic beanie as shown above by GAP or a more colorful one, one with a little puff up top, or one with ear flaps. I have a couple of them but if I’ve just gotten my hair done, I won’t wear a beanie because it flattens my hair. Instead I go with a….

SLOUCHY HAT

959405fbcb47f686a375a2629785c74c

The slouchy hat is sort of an “oblong” version of the beanie that adds a bit more style to your look. It is also less fitted thereby not “flattening” your hair. These also come in very pretty colors and patterns and are super warm as well.

EARMUFFS

3a6ec5c284832f737e315ad84fe7c310

How CUTE are these? The above are faux-fur by Anthropologie. While I’m not a fan of the earmuff because they just feel tight and give me a headache, they are a good source of warmth if you prefer not to wear a hat. Just keep in mind that although your ears are protected, your head is still vulnerable to the cold.

THE FEDORA

539fc1d3a8f96_-_cos-05-velvet-fedora-hat-de-mscn

The fedora screams cool. I mean MJ rocked one in his “Smooth Criminal” video and I was glued to the TV. My love, Robert Downey Jr., rocked one in Sherlock Holmes and had my heart doing extra thumps! So yes, the fedora is not only cool but will keep your head warm as well and can enhance any outfit. I have one in a checkered pattern in tan/black/brown that I love. Just keep in mind that this hat will not protect your ears from the blast of frio (cold).

TIGHTS & LEGGINGS

I know some of us regardless of how cold it is, cannot go without our dresses and skirts so tights are definitely a must. They can keep your legs fairly warm and if you wear boots, you can add boot socks or leg warmers to the mix. There are plenty of pretty patterns and colors these days so you can be creative with your choices.

Leggings are a great way to layer under your pants/jeans. I have a bunch just for this purpose. They keep your legs warm and aren’t bulky so nobody would ever know you’re wearing them underneath your slacks.

SUNGLASSES

ea35c6e3c237039691665c140d90b0cc

Last but not least, let’s throw in a lil bit of shade… Sunglasses that is. They’re not only made for the summer months. Sunglasses are great during the winter because they keep the wind out of your eyes, keep your eyes from tearing because of the unbelievable cold, and of course they contribute to the “fabulous” factor. I love the over-sized style with the darker lenses. Make sure they have some type of UV protection to guard your eyes.

…The End…

So there you go my sweets my essentials for keeping warm during these cold, blustery winter months. Did I miss anything? I mean there are certainly different variations of all of the above so you can pick and choose according to your tastes.

Okay so y’all already know the drill… Comment below and let me know your thoughts. Did I miss anything? What are your favorite pieces that keep you warm during winter? Do you prefer cute and fun or practical and toned down. I love colorful, fun and stylish. For the guys, you can relate as far as scarves, gloves, hats, beanies and socks go. What would you add to the list? Should I dedicate a post solely for men? Sheesh, I have so many questions. In any event, I repeat… Comment below and let’s discuss. I love winter because of the clothes and accessories so this topic is super fun for me. If you agree, let’s start a conversation and share and maybe help somebody out there that has yet to discover the wonderful accessories that can “upgrade” any look during these cold months of winter. There’s no reason why we can’t keep ourselves warm while looking fabulous, stylish and chic during these freezing days of winter. I look forward to your feedback. Let’s chat. Go! #engage

My Love For Chuck… Taylor… Converse!

Hola,

How are my darlings doing? How has 2016 been treating you so far? I hope with all my heart that it’s been going wonderful for all of you. Mine has been great so far. I’ve got a couple of exciting deals coming up that I’m happy about. Also, I’ve finally decided to take out my sketch pad and get back into sketching. I’m hoping my “creative block” will soon disappear so I can get back into designing what’s floating around in my head but I haven’t been able to get on paper for the longest time. #sadness …I’m sure this time I’ll be able to let my creativity flow. I have a good feeling. πŸ™‚

Alrighty then, have you all had a chance to read my last post of 2015 “For The Love Of Boots?” Ayyeee… I had so much fun researching and writing that post because… BOOTS! Well not really researching because I already have a very good sense of how fabulous this fantastic style of footwear is ;). Anyway, if you haven’t caught up with that post, please go visit after reading this one and let me know what you think.

So for Christmas I always give myself a present. Β I mean why the hell not? It’s the end of the year, I’ve worked hard throughout and paid rent, bills and lord knows what else to get by so why not do a lil bit of extra splurging for ME during the most wonderful time of the year? So I did. πŸ™‚ And I wanted to share my purchase with you because they’re pretty CUTE!

A little backstory: The same way I adore my heels, I also adore sneakers or “kicks” like the young ones call ’em these days. I’m all about comfort and style, and a cool pair of sneakers can bring that on. I’ve always felt that one does not need to be all decked out 365 days a year to look good. You can still rock a fabulous look when going casual and comfortable, and that’s what a great pair of kicks can bring to the picture. I went with Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars. I LOVE this brand for their cuteness. The one pair I had for years and years died on me early on in 2015 and I wanted to cry. I held out until the holidays with the hopes of catching a good sale and thank the sneaker gods, I DID! So without further ado, here are my new favorites Chuck Taylors:

Chuck Taylor All Star Hi Double Upper Canvas

I customized this style myself. I chose the “hi double upper” because I tend to lean towards the high top style, and I loved that this particular style gave me more options to play with. I love the colors yellow and blue. They’re on my list of top favorite colors. Plus, I wanted a main color that would pretty much go with anything I wear so… blue. And the rest is historia (history).

The converse website is fantastic. You can customize your sneaker right down to the color of the eyelets. I love this style because it’s different and I’m all about being different. This is like a sneaker in a sneaker and the first time I wore them, this past Friday, they caught quite a lot of attention. They were a complete hit. Both men and women loved them and gave me awesome compliments. Yayzers!

If you would like to design your own pair, click here:Β ConverseΒ and choose “customize” to begin designing your own pair that reflects you and your style. I would say don’t hold back. Go all out and choose what truly defines you, mix unlikely colors, choose a different material other than canvas and then rock those kicks. Once you make your purchase, it should take about three weeks for your sneakers to arrive. Trust me they will be worth the wait. So go ahead and head on over to Converse to customize your own and have fun designing! Don’t forget to come back and show us what you chose. πŸ™‚

*Note: I got a pretty good deal on these during the holidays but the original prices on all sneakers range from $50 (depending on the style) and up.

…The End…

There you have it my darlings. What do you think of my new kicks? Did they make you wanna go and design your own? Are you a fan of wearing sneakers or are you more the “all decked out 24/7” type of gal or guy? Either way, you all know the drill. Comment below and let me know what you think. If you already have a pair of any style of converse kicks, please share them in the comments section. There are so many cute pairs and color/color combinations on their website that I would LOVE to see what everyone chooses and why. This goes for the men as well. Fellas, show us what you got. If you’re a fan of Converse, let’s have some fun and share your pair below and tell us why you chose that style and color/colors. If you don’t own a pair yet, please feel free to comment on mine. I look forward to your feedback. Let’s chat. Go! #engage

For The Love Of Boots!!

Hola,

How are my darlings doing on this second to last night of December 2015? How crazy is it that this year just flew by? Time is truly flying so do your best to follow your dreams and goals sooner rather than later. We must do all we can to live a better life, whatever that may mean to you so just go for it. ❀

Has everyone taken a minute or three to read my last post “For The Gents… Cool Winter Trends?” It was my first post focusing on men’s fashion and I have to say I was a bit weary because of it, but it was fun researching for it and writing it. I got some good feedback even from a few gents so that’s a great sign. If you haven’t checked it out, please do so after you finish reading this one and let me know what you think.

So with 2015 almost over and a new year soon upon us with hopefully, wonderful things in store for all of us, I decided to focus my last post of 2015 on the one fashion item that has been my “forever weakness.” It’s already in the title so yessss… Let’s talk about boots! If you know me personally, or via this blog you’ll know that I ADORE boots. The reason I love fall and winter is because I get to wear these fabulous pieces of footwear. I love ALL types of boots from heels to flats to wedges to those cozy Uggs! They all give me so much life (LOL).

The photos below are some of my favorite styles and some I added because they’re part of the boot family and some of you may be rocking them. Some of these are photos of my own boots that I thought I’d share. Alrighty then lovelies, let’s do this…

FOR THE LOVE OF BOOTS – MY FOREVER WEAKNESS

THE RIDING BOOT:

I have this pair by Etienne Aigner in the above color and also in black and I love them. The riding boot adds that stylish “equestrian” look that is so classy. It’s also a great style if you’d rather go with a flatter heel. I wear these with jeans or a sweater dress when I want a not so casual look as well as comfort. I chose these because I have slim legs and I like my boots to fit snug around my calves and these were perfect.

THE HIGH-HEELED OR STILETTO BOOT:

cl-boot-series-45716

I seriously need these boots in my life. I mean Christian Louboutin and all plus these are just beautiful! They’re simple but classy with just a tiny hidden platform. The high-heeled boot adds elegance, style, sexiness, fabulousness to any outfit. Whether you’re wearing a short or long dress, jeans, slacks, a pencil skirt or mini, the list goes on. This boot just makes you feel fabulous and like you can conquer the world so go ahead and rock them.

My suggestion… With designers making the “heel” higher and higher these days, choose a height that is most comfortable for you to walk in. Whether it’s a three inch heel or an eight, just make sure you’re able to walk properly in the heel you choose.

THE HIGH-HEELED BOOT:

This pair belongs to moi… I got them a few years ago at Nine West and they are on my favorite pair list. They’re extremely comfortable, the heel is four inches high and I love them because they’re just different… I wear them with jeans, a dress or skirt and get tons of compliments from both men and women. I wanted to add these under the high-heeled category.

THE BOOTIE:

Booties are just everything, don’t you agree? I mean look at all the different styles above. You have an array of choices from the heeled bootie to the chunky heel, to the wedge or the flat and anything in between. I have several pairs in different colors and styles, and I can’t even try to pick a favorite. The bootie can also be worn with anything.

THE RAIN BOOT:

These also belong to me… The rain boot is an essential part of your winter wardrobe. On those rainy days, this boot is the key to keep the water away from your toesies and your cute socks :). I got this pair two years ago from Sperry Top-Sider. I wanted a good pair but I also wanted something different that not everybody was wearing and these fit the bill. They even have a fleece lining to keep your feet nice and warm. If your feet tend to sweat, I would say to bring a pair of shoes to your destination so you can change into them.

THE WEDGE BOOT:

Women Mix No. 6 Ledy Wide Calf Wedge Boot Black - 341877

Aren’t these just the CUTEST?! Well my darlings, these also belong to yours truly… I bought this lovely wedge boot about a month ago at DSW and I’ve already worn them with a pair of jeans as well as a couple of dresses and they were a total hit. They’re by Mix NoΒ β€’6 and are super comfortable. The wedge heel gives you height, elegance and offers comfort if you’re not comfortable wearing the thin high-heel.

THE CONSTRUCTION BOOT (FOR WOMEN):

This style is for a more laid back look. These are popular for the guys and we all know that they are a staple for construction workers. The above boot is specifically for the ladies. I used to own a pair several years ago and they were dark brown. I like this boot for the weekend to run errands or even, if they’re not suede, on a snowy or rainy day.

THE COWBOY BOOT:

2013-12-27 23.10.31

For the longest time I wanted a pair of cowboy boots but I wanted them to fit snug around my calves because yesss… So one of my besties (Gretchy), who is an award winning equestrian btw, suggested the websiteΒ SheplersΒ and I found these babies. So yes, these are mine as well… LOL! Hey I told y’all that boots are my forever weakness! Anyways, I purchased these on a Cyber Monday about two years ago. Cowboy boots obviously go with jeans but how cute is it when women wear them with cute dresses. Even in the summer months, when it’s not so hot of course, you can rock them with a cute summer dress or shorts.

THE MOTORCYCLE BOOT:

If you’re a bad-ass chick who does the whole “all black everything” deal, wears leather and rides a motorcycle, then this is the boot for you. This boot has a flatter heel for comfort and the buckles add the style that screams to the world “I kick ass!” I just may get a pair…

THE UGG BOOT:

get-attachment (27)

I ADORE!!! These are my second pair of Ugg boots and by far, my favorite. Look how cozy they look. All that faux fur goes all the way into the toe area so on those freezing winter days, your legs and feet are NEVER cold. I can wear these boots every day. I really have to remind myself to switch things up because these are my everything during the winter. You can even flip the top of the boot over to give them a shorter length but I never do. I want all that coziness and I always wear a pair of really cute boot socks to play them up.

THE MILITARY or COMBAT BOOT:

5x5-main-1

These are so cute! I don’t own a pair but looking at these sure does make me want to go shopping. The military boot always has a flat heel with the lace-up style. They are extremely comfortable and fashionable as you can see the above looks. You can wear this boot with jeans, or a casual mini skirt or dress. Add some boot socks, like a pair with a lacy peek-a-boo elastic that pops out on top to add that lil extra of feminine flair. I think I’m going to get a pair. πŸ˜‰

THE SNOW BOOT:

440

One of my besties (Tanji – aka “my lil munchkin”) read this post and kindly reminded me that I had forgotten to include the snow boot. See what happens when your peeps follow your blog? They come in handy! πŸ˜‰ So here it is my sweets… The snow boot.

The above snow boot – the women’s Iceland boot by Baffin – is amazing. I bought this boot in 2014 when I was going skiing in Colorado with the besties, and it was a godsend because that year was a pretty rough winter in New York City. This boot is incredibly light and it feels like you’re walking on air. It is super warm and it has a removable “thermaplus” liner to add extra warmth. The faux-fur trim brings on the style along with even more warmth. This boot is perfection. Needless to say, that the snow boot should be worn during those snowy days of winter. I also wear mine on rainy days and remove the liner, unless it’s freezing out. This boot is a great investment if you get rough winters or just to look good if you like to ski. Baffin is an excellent brand for your winter footwear. Check Them out here:Β BaffinΒ or check out:Β Zappos, they also sell this brand.

THE THIGH-HIGH BOOT:

trend-of-Minimalist-over-knee-booots

Last but not least, the thigh-high boot! Ahhh, these are something huh? The thigh-high was definitely a thing at the runway shows for winter 2015/2016. I don’t own a pair because again, I like my boots to be fitted/snug around my legs or in this case, my thighs and I feel like this style just won’t accommodate me. I’ll just leave the thigh-high to everyone else. They are fabulous, however. The right style can definitely bring the sexy. The best way to pair these is with a short skirt or dress where you can see some of your thigh. Y’all know that peek-a-boo effect. If I were to get a pair, I would skip the platform boot because those just scare me! LOL!

…The End…

So there you have it my loves. As you’ve read, boots are really my “forever weakness” and I’m not the least bit ashamed to admit it. I mean let’s face it, how sexy are they? They add a special kind of beauty, elegance and fabulous style (no matter what style you pick) to any outfit. Do you agree?

What are your favorites? Are you a boot lover like I am or nah? How do you incorporate them to your outfit? Do you tend to wear them more with pants/jeans or skirts/dresses or does it not matter? Do you like color? I do. I have black, browns, tans and grays. I would love a pair of navy blue boots…

Okay you all know the drill… Comment below and let me know what you thought of this post. If you love boots as much as I do, please share your favorite styles and if you have photos, please post them in the comments as well. Do you prefer the higher heel as opposed to the flat heel or vice versa? Let’s chat, let’s discuss our favorites and how we pair them. This way we can give those who have a hard time picking and pairing some great ideas. After all, we all just want to look and feel beautiful and sexy and there is NO harm in us helping each other out. I look forward to your feedback. Let’s talk. Go! #engage
